Global Head of Trust & Safety (Founding Leader) Location: - Singapore About the Company: - Our client is a globally scaled consumer content platform with hundreds of millions of users, focused on authentic, lifestyle-driven user-generated content. - The company is accelerating international expansion and is building a world-class Trust & Safety function from the ground up. - The platform operates at the intersection of Eastern and Western digital ecosystems, presenting unique challenges and opportunities in setting global standards for online safety, authenticity, and community trust. The Role: - This is a founding Global Head of Trust & Safety position, responsible for defining and building the entire Trust & Safety function outside the company’s core home market. - Key responsibilities include: - Shaping the definition of “safe and authentic” across different cultures and regions. - Integrating policy, enforcement, and technology at scale. - Navigating regulatory, cultural, and societal expectations across Eastern and Western markets. - This is a 0→1 leadership role, combining strategic executive ownership with hands-on building of systems, teams, and infrastructure. What You Will Do: Policy & Governance: - Define and evolve global community guidelines and content policies, ensuring consistency while respecting regional nuances. - Translate complex cultural, legal, and societal expectations into clear, enforceable standards. - Partner with Legal, Public Policy, and Government Relations teams to navigate regulatory frameworks in key markets (US, EU, Southeast Asia). - Establish escalation frameworks, appeals processes, and governance models for high-risk content decisions. Operations & Enforcement: - Build and scale a global moderation and enforcement ecosystem from the ground up. - Design vendor strategy, quality frameworks, and operational workflows across regions. - Define and drive KPIs and SLAs for accuracy, consistency, and response time. - Lead crisis response and sensitive content decisions, balancing speed, precision, and reputational risk. AI, Automation & Platform Integrity: - Define the vision for AI-driven content moderation and enforcement systems. - Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to build detection pipelines, classification models, and automated enforcement systems. - Lead the transition from manual moderation to intelligent, scalable automation. - Establish evaluation frameworks to ensure alignment between model performance and policy intent, especially in nuanced or culturally sensitive areas. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence: - Build and lead a globally distributed Trust & Safety organization across policy, operations, and intelligence functions. - Serve as the central Trust & Safety voice across Product, Legal, Communications, and Business teams. - Act as a bridge between regional teams and global leadership, ensuring alignment across markets. - Represent the company externally with regulators, NGOs, and industry bodies. Who You Are: - 8–15+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, content policy, or platform integrity within a scaled global consumer platform. - Proven track record leading multi-region Trust & Safety operations, ideally across both Western and Asian markets. - Deep understanding of AI/ML-driven moderation systems, with the ability to work closely with engineering and product teams. - Experience managing large-scale moderation ecosystems, including global vendor networks. - Strong policy judgment, able to translate ambiguous cultural and legal contexts into clear, actionable enforcement frameworks. - Comfortable operating in high-growth, ambiguous, 0→1 environments. - Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions and geographies. Language Requirements: - Fluency in English is required. - Mandarin or additional languages are a strong advantage.
