Job responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel to the company on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, contracts, and intellectual property.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure alignment with company objectives and legal standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data privacy and employment laws.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks by developing and implementing policies and procedures to protect the company’s interests.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, finance, and operations, to address legal concerns and support business initiatives.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and provide proactive guidance.
- Assist in managing external legal counsel and coordinate with them on specialized legal matters.
Job requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar association.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal counsel, preferably in a corporate or technology-focused environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, intellectual property law, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions aligned with business goals.
- Experience in managing legal risks and developing policies to ensure compliance.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
