Role Summary
We are looking for a proactive and independent Consultant to manage Malaysia licensing, regulatory applications, and business advisory projects. This role requires someone who can drive client engagements end-to-end, develop business opportunities, and build strong relationships with government authorities.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in expanding our consultancy services, delivering high-quality application support, and positioning the firm as a trusted advisor in regulatory and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
Licensing & Regulatory Affairs
Manage end-to-end applications for business-critical licenses and permits, including Manufacturing License, MD Status, CIDB, WRT, Business Premise, ASP, and other regulatory approvals
Oversee and coordinate related applications such as tax incentives, import duty exemptions, Certificates of Origin, LMW, ESD, and Employment Passes
Act as the key liaison with regulatory authorities (e.g. DOSH, DOE, BOMBA), ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, guidelines, and submission requirements
Proactively monitor regulatory updates and provide strategic guidance to clients on compliance and risk mitigation
Project Execution & Client Management
Independently lead and manage client engagements from onboarding through to successful project completion
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring clear communication, professional guidance, and high service standards throughout the engagement lifecycle
Coordinate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all project milestones
Prepare high-quality documentation, submissions, and reports while closely tracking progress against KPIs and deadlines
Drive operational excellence by identifying process improvements and ensuring consistent delivery standards
Business Development
Identify, develop new business opportunities and grow consultancy revenue
Prepare proposals, presentations, and pitch materials
Build and maintain client relationships for repeat business
Government Relations
Build and maintain strong working relationships with government agencies and regulators
Act as liaison between clients and authorities
Stay updated on policy changes, incentives, and regulatory developments
Reporting & Advisory
Prepare professional reports, feasibility studies, and advisory papers
Deliver presentations to clients on licensing strategies and regulatory pathways
Provide strategic guidance on business setup, expansion, and compliance
Ad-hoc Duties
Support management initiatives and perform assigned tasks as required
