Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of initiatives to establish and expand commodities trading capabilities in China (onshore and offshore), covering regulatory, operational, and technology workstreams.
- Manage project delivery across entity setup, licensing/registrations, infrastructure build-out, and go-live readiness.
- Conduct detailed business analysis across front-, middle-, and back-office workflows for commodities and/or securities trading, including trade capture, risk, confirmations, settlement, and reporting.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of trading, risk, and post-trade systems such as OMS/EMS, ETRM/CTRM, risk, and middle-office platforms.
- Collaborate closely with China-based regulators, exchanges/clearing venues, banks/brokers, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure adherence to relevant Chinese regulatory requirements, including reporting and record-keeping obligations.
- Coordinate across global business, operations, legal, risk, and technology teams to align the China build with global standards and controls.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
- Prepare key documentation including business cases, project plans, governance updates, process maps, and stakeholder communications.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a hybrid Project Manager / Business Analyst role within financial markets.
- Proven experience setting up or scaling securities and/or commodities businesses in China, spanning both onshore and offshore structures (including entity setup, licensing/registrations, and operating model build).
- Strong understanding of China’s market infrastructure (venues, clearing and settlement), and local regulatory frameworks relevant to securities and commodities activities.
- Demonstrated experience delivering systems integration and vendor implementations across trading, risk, and post-trade domains.
- Highly self-driven and capable of operating independently in a new-market build and change environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-cultural communication skills, both in English and Mandarin.
- Proficiency with project and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
